Holy Trinity is partnering with St. Francis of Assisi and St. Pius X parishes to sponsor a Habitat for Humanity house.  Habitat for Humanity is a Christian housing ministry which provides self help homeownership opportunities for low-income working families to purchase a home.

Our parishes will be building a home on 23rd Street north of University Avenue in Des Moines.  Construction is planned for two months beginning Wednesday, April 14th.  On-site work days will be Wednesdays through Saturdays, 8:15 am to 4:00 pm.  Holy Trinity's Habitat for Humanity Committee is seeking help from parishioners with time, talent and financial support.  You have to be 16 years of age or older to be part of the construction but younger parishioners (age 14+) may want to participate in the landscaping days later in the project.  For more information or to sign-up to help with this important parish ministry, please click here or email habitat@holytrinitydm.org

HT's Habitat for Humanity Update:  We have a family! Kuanyin and Ayen have agreed to purchase the Habitat House at 1427 23rd Street in Des Moines. They are the parents of four children, three girls ages 7, 4 and 2; and a boy, age 5 and attend St. Ambrose Church.

Help us build the Habitat House! On the wooden house, located in the back of the church, you will find slips to sponsor different building expenses for the Habitat House on 23rd Street in Des Moines. Sponsor a cabinet for $250, a window for $25, paint for $5, or a 2x4 for $1. Please pull off a slip, put the donation in the chimney and tape the slip to the house. We will be able to see the progress of our build this way. We will be updating the fundraising by painting the "thermometer" on the wooden house roofline. If you donate by check, please make the check out to Holy Trinity-Habitat for Humanity. If your employer matches contributions, please make the check to Habitat with "Holy Trinity" on the "for" line. Please contact Father Michael at 255-3162 ext 1126 or any committee member with questions.

Thank-you to the 120 parishioners for volunteering to work onsite, provide food, financial or prayer support. We need to send Habitat our schedule of workers for construction dates starting April 14th through the end of June. We will be working Wednesdays through Saturdays. Please contact Mary Ellen Burr at 274-1104 or email habitat@holytrinitydm.org if you can work onsite or if you have already volunteered and can now commit to a date. Thank you.
